About
Cooked slowly, shared loudly.
Our story
One oven, one lane, a lot of neighbours.
Ember Lane started with a simple idea: cook everything over real fire and make the room feel like a friend's kitchen. The oven is the heart of the place. It is lit before we open and it sets the pace of the day.
We buy from growers and makers we can name, we cook what is good this week, and we keep the prices fair for people who live nearby. Our story in full: founded by Mira and Dan, who opened the doors in 2019.
What we care about
Three habits
Wood and coals
Real fire gives flavour that nothing else can. We use ironbark and red gum offcuts from a regional Victorian mill.
Seasonal and local
The menu follows the market. Suppliers: Fresh produce from a Gippsland market grower, a Western District farm and a small Melbourne bakery.
Everyone at the table
Vegetarian, vegan and gluten free dishes are part of the menu, not an afterthought.
